Does it Hurt?

It doesn’t hurt me (yeah, yeah, yo) / Do you wanna feel how it feels? (Yeah, yeah, yo) / Do you wanna know, know that it doesn’t hurt me? (Yeah, yeah, yo) / Do you wanna hear about the deal that I’m making? (Kate Bush)

I will make a deal with you. Let me feel the hurt of it. Let me feel the pain so you don’t have to worry about it anymore. I want to take that for you. I don’t want you to feel the uncertainty, the overthinking, or even the ghosting that sometimes happens.

Honesty is the best sort of kindness, but then not saying it is saying it, too, and there is no greater gift than realizing there is someone out there for you that wants you and will tell you so honestly and completely. It will come, and if it doesn’t, you will be ok, too.

What is meant for you will never pass you by. Remember that.

These are words I try to tell myself. But words I want them to feel, too.

Balance is the key, isn’t it? Boundaries are a thing. But kindness and empathy is too.
