“You can’t control the bad things that happen in life, Tom. . . There is a quote I love. I got it in cross stitch. I’m going to read it to you. ‘The world is violent and mercurial. It will have its way with you . . . We live in a perpetually burning building, and what we must save from it all the time is love.’” Ruth from Widows Bay and Tennessee Williams
Maybe Ruth is right: life is a house of horrors, and we just have to do what we can to save love. Save the love we have for ourselves. Learn and grow and keep the person inside you that you love and don’t change you for anyone else. She said some good things about life and accepting it, and I want to last to her age with that kind of attitude.
Thoughtful Thursday was a bit about self-worth and keeping peace for yourself. Self-worth has been an issue all my life. I run off people not because I think they are unworthy of me, but because I am unworthy of them. Maybe it is time that I stop.

It is always good to reflect on where you are and what’s next, what’s possible.

Yes it is. Although my overthinking brain has no problem reflecting. I could shut it off every now and then.
