“Actually, there is a word for that. It’s love. I’m in love with her, okay? If you’re looking for the word that means caring for someone beyond all rationality and wanting them to have everything they want no matter how much it destroys you, it’s love. And when you love someone, you just, you… you don’t stop, ever. Even when people roll their eyes, and call you crazy. Even then. Especially then. You just — you don’t give up. Because if I could just give up… if I could just, you know, take the whole world’s advice and — and move on and find someone else, that wouldn’t be love. That would be… that would be some other disposable thing that is not worth fighting for. But I — that is not what this is.” Ted Mosby, HIMYM
I was on TikTok today. I don’t get on there much, but when I see a notification, I have to click to get rid of it. I hate having unanswered things.
Because of what I post there and the limited number of things I like, most of my feed is full of love and relationship things, quotes, poetry, and randomness.
This one, I had to find, I had to save. I have been thinking about the word love a lot and mostly how I want to see it from others, but this reminds me that I can love someone and it doesn’t matter what they show me. I am still going to love them. I am still going to fight to be a part of who they are in some way.
I am going to stay whether they like it or not.
