Doors

Footfalls echo in the memory / Down the passage which we did not take / Towards the door we never opened / Into the rose-garden. / Time present and time past / Are both perhaps present in time future. T. S. Eliot

Watching Dark Matter and this quote came up. The story revolves around a cube with doors inside leading to different universes. I have read several books with a similar type of theme. It is another version of that “what if” game.

Thinking about the different doors that I could have opened and what doors are in front of me.

Some slightly ajar and some wide open.

Sometimes I am tempted to open the door that is closed. Some people open their doors only to later slam them shut.

I keep my door slightly ajar waiting to see if the right one will want to open it all the way. Thankful to those who open it even if they just want to stay for a moment.
