It is true. Especially for those of us with a praise kink. Tell me I am pretty even when I am not. Tell me I am doing great at something even when I am close to failure.
The other side of this, though, is that there are many of us who would hear that praise and not believe it anyway. We are into degradation because it is far more believable in our minds that we may truly be worthless.
