Goodbye

(Another writing prompt for you to enjoy)

No more goodbyes, please. I do not want them. 

I am ready for hello. 

I want that first spark, the intake of breath when I see you for the first time, the instant recognition that somehow you are mine and I am yours. 

The first look and that first smile. 

That first moment when I get to hear your voice and have it vibrate through me.

The first touch that sends shivers through my body. Maybe it is a hand that brushes my arm, but then grabs on to steady me. 

The first accidental headbutt and laugh. 

The first time the air is so charged around us, we don’t know how to attack first. But we are both ready for the assault on our senses and bodies. 

The first hug and the kiss to follow that I know will change me on such a deep level. It is a kiss that I hope will rewrite our stories and help open a new path of existence. One where a door opens to the home I knew was there but couldn’t get to before. 

If I say goodbye, it will be to the life I knew before, but not you.
