It is October 1st. This is the time I get serious about Halloween. I sometimes lose steam by the time the day of trick or treating is upon us. However, I love filling my life with spooky things this time of year.
I always hope for the type of connections that indulge me in this. Going to seances, haunted houses, ghost tours, and just generally watching scary movies is a love language for me.
Tonight is a Vampire night. I love True Blood and watch it over and over throughout the year. I was a big fan of the books, (The Southern Vampire Chronicles) and have read them all a number of times. Always an Eric Northman fan which tells you a bit about the relationships I gravitate toward. I want the person with power. I want a manipulator and someone strategic and calculating. They know what they want and they go after it. Part of that is I don’t want to have to do all the work in chasing. I will do some though because I need to feel that imbalance. I love the idea of a villain. I especially love the ones you see in fairy tales. They have a more interesting arc. The ones that have real growth. They are good underneath that bad-boy exterior.
Ok, I really also love the sexualization of vampires as well. Having Alexander Skarsgard personify that sexiness is just over-the-top good to me. I love the idea of neck and thigh biting.
Watching a movie now called To Die For from the late 80s. I love the scenes that show a vampire taking notice of you. Hearing your heart and blood pumping. They become addicted to you in that way. Definitely something that really turns me on.
